All screwed construction using weather-resistant plated deck screws and fully routed edges.

Single cell bat house, can house 12 – 30 bats. Interior surface and landing platform are made of rough cedar and are grooved for clinging when roosting and landing. Shelter weathers beautifully as it is made of red cedar. The Bat House may be used by big brown, cave, eastern pipistrelle, evening, little brown, Mexican free-tailed, northern long-eared, pallid, Pallas’ mastiff, Rafinesque’s big-eared, southeastern, or Yuma bats. While actual number of insects caught varies according to the size of the insects, laboratory studies have shown that a single little brown bat can consume 600 or more mosquitoes in an hour. Bats do not interfere with attracting wild birds. Mount your bat house on a pole or under the eaves of a house, garage or barn approximately 12-15 feet above the ground facing the south, preferably in an area that receives sunlight during most of the day. Bat houses require no maintenance and should be left in place year round.
